At noon on October 1 during the National Day holiday travel peak, train D1884 bound from Liuzhou to Guangzhou South was stopped at Liuzhou Station preparing to depart. Just during the interval before the train was about to start, out of who knows what kind of crazy psychology, a male passenger forcibly climbed onto the bullet train roof from the connection between two carriages. Possessing no safety awareness whatsoever, he directly touched the high-voltage catenary system, was instantly struck by a powerful high-voltage electric shock and knocked unconscious on the spot, and then fell stiffly from a high position to the platform floor. The scene instantly fell into chaos, and station staff and medical personnel arrived quickly to launch emergency rescue efforts.

Man Touches High-Voltage Electricity and Falls onto Platform

Without any protective measures, the man groped his way up onto the train roof without authorization, attempting to perform some kind of incomprehensible and dangerous challenge. However, the high-voltage power grid is no joke. Accompanied by blinding electrical sparks, the man was instantly struck by the high-voltage current and fell heavily onto the platform. The station's emergency plan was quickly activated, and emergency medical personnel from the 120 ambulance service arrived at the scene within minutes to rush the injured person to the hospital.

Courting death by challenging high-voltage lines leads to widespread train delays

Looking back at this thrilling farce that happened on the first day of the National Day, the process can be described as soul-stirring. At noon on October 1st, train D1884 was originally supposed to carry a full train of laughter and cheers and depart for Guangzhou South on time, but no one expected that these few minutes before departure would turn into a live broadcast of a safety accident, not only scaring the passengers who witnessed it on the spot out of their wits, but also triggering overwhelming criticism and attention online.
